Inkless footprint kits
Babysafe gives midwives a clean, hygienic way to capture a newborn's footprints at the bedside. No ink pads, no mess, no chore. Just a lasting keepsake for the family, done in under a minute. Ideal for recording the ID of a baby.
The process
Babysafe replaces messy ink pads with a sealed, single-use wipe and sensitised paper, designed for a ward that doesn't have twenty minutes to spare.
Tear open one individually sealed imprint wipe and wipe the infant's foot. It will feel dry to the touch. That's normal, and part of what keeps it mess-free.
Gently but firmly press the foot onto the Babysafe identification card, sensitised certificate, or label, whichever the hospital is using.
One wipe, one print. Repeat the same motion for the second foot.
No blotting, no ink on the baby, no ink on staff. The print appears on its own.

Why hospitals switch
Babysafe is now the most widely used inkless footprinting system in the world. The case for it holds up clinically, not just cosmetically.
Hygiene
Non-toxic and single-use by design, so there are no shared ink pads or rollers passed between babies.
Accuracy
Prints are indelible and won't spread the way ink can, giving a more accurate print for re-identification. The prints can then be scanned to store electronically if required. Having a physical print provides strong security against digital swapping.
Sensitive care
Where ink staining can complicate a post-mortem, Babysafe's inkless method avoids that problem entirely, and it's used across bereavement and SCBU teams.
The keepsake
The prints are taken on high quality certificates, identification cards, or keepsake labels, designed to be kept, not just filed.
Imprint wipes & sensitised labels
Individually sealed wipes suit occasional use; a tub suits higher volume maternity and SCBU units. Labels offer greater versatility. Once the print is taken they can be applied to your hospital's own paperwork, so there's no need to replace existing forms.
Product range
Every format starts the same way: imprint wipe, then a sensitised surface. The only thing that changes is the surface.

Babysafe's inkless method is the Coroners Society's preferred choice where ink staining could complicate a post-mortem, and it's used across bereavement and SCBU teams for that reason. Giving parents a memento of their baby's footprints is an important part of the bereavement process.
